“God is the strength in which I trust.” A Course in Miracles, Lesson 47
A decade or so ago, there was a fad promoted in the Christian marketing field that started the acronym F.R.O.G. which stood for Fully Rely On God. I am not prone to buy into the tchotchke stuff, so other than thinking “Oh, that’s cute” I didn’t pay much attention to it … until December 2021.
One morning during my meditation, out of nowhere, the above phrase popped into my awareness. I believe God was clearly calling me to TRUST! Fully relying on God means that I must get out of my own way. I had fallen into an old familiar pattern of fear, one I thought I had overcome. I didn’t have a clear picture of my future and no firm ground to move forward on. I can easily tell myself to surrender, but to actually DO IT is another ball game. Over the past three months, I was given ample opportunities to implement F.R.O.G. but realized afterwards I had fallen short. “The presence of fear is a sure sign that you are trusting in your own strength.” ACIM Lesson 48 Para. 3
I am grateful for my practices. I am grateful for the wisdom teachers. I am grateful for awareness. Am I perfect? Nope! I am perfectly imperfect and continue to be open to the lessons my life provides.
This morning I turned to nature in a bottle for my meditation. The delicious essence of Goldenrod guided me into balancing the dis-ease of my spiritual heart and here is what I heard:
“Open up to the flow by being creative. Enjoy the practice rather than making something you ‘need’ to do to get ___. Be in your heart, not your head. Recognize the flow and enjoy the ride, wherever it takes you. You are always being led to the next best thing. Trust the flow.”
I was led to turn to my creativity by creating a collage to give me a visual representation of F.R.O.G. Through the process, I was reminded that frogs go through the metamorphosis stage without getting in their own way. I re-read a few lines I had read, written by Steven Farmer from his Power Animal book: “Sing! Let your voice be known! It will clear and refresh your soul…cleanse and heal your surroundings and bathe yourself and others in the vibrations of ancient rhythms and eternal chants.”
How can nature bring you back to a place of fully relying on God?
Have you experienced the veil of fear without realizing it?
Will you trust nature to nurture your creativity and release any blocks to F.R.O.G.?
