"The earth has music for those who listen, and art for those who see. Let nature's beauty inspire your creativity and heal your soul." by Nancy Zick
As far back as my memory allows, I have felt peaceful when in nature. Being outside meant being inside my sanctuary. I loved sitting on the soft green, grassy carpet. I sat for hours searching through the clovers for one with four leaves. I easily became one with the ant as it hauled its load back to the sand hill. Once I even dared to reach out and touch the soft fuzzy bee, OUCH! Unpleasant lesson learned.
Growing up in the city provided limited opportunities for me to expand my connection to nature. When I was in my early twenties, I re-established myself in a rural area and my soul began to open. All of my childhood experiences of camping, exploring along Lake Michigan, and star-gazing on a grassy hill were at my finger tips.
Life has a way of diverting us from our time in nature. I continued to find opportunities to be in nature but justified them as rewards for completing my daily routines. But what about the soul connections I felt as a child? Were they simply fantasy, playtime?
I now see how crucial time in nature is for our overall well-being. It isn't frivolous to take time to simply be in nature. It is down right necessary! Our ancestors connected to the rhythms of our beautiful planet. When is the last time you thought about the rhythms of nature? Try it. Take a look at your life and see it as a flowing river, or see the changes of your life as seasonal changes, or the vibrancy you experience when you encounter stunning flowers as a call to look at your life and see it for the beauty it is.
As Albert Einstein said, "Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."
As we embrace the gifts of nature, we awaken the creative flow of life. You have the power to create the life your soul desires. Just as nature clears away the old to make room for new growth, you can release stagnant energy and welcome in vibrant, new possibilities.
It is my hope and prayer that you will open yourself up to the childlike state of pure existence, unleashing your imagination to take you to the depths of nature, where you, too, will be able to connect more deeply with nature’s amazing gifts.
May you embrace the boundless love that creation offers to us all!
Blessings,
Nancy
